Sir Sam Jonah is Chairman of GloCentric Property Fund – furthermore, he is Chairman of UK-based telecommunications tower company Helios Towers and Canadian Roscan Gold Corporation Inc. since January 2020 and a Non-Executive Director of Grit Real Estate Income Group Limited since February 2019.
Sir Sam Jonah has extensive listed company experience, having served on the boards of various public and private companies including Vodafone Group plc, Lonhro plc, the Global Advisory Council of the Bank of America Corporation and Standard Bank Group. He previously worked for Ashanti Goldfields and later became Executive President of AngloGold Ashanti Limited (world’s second largest gold producer at the time).
He was born and educated in Ghana and obtained a Master’s degree in Management from Imperial College London and is a member of the American Academy of Engineering. Jonah has an honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree awarded jointly by the Camborne School of Mines and the University of Exeter (UK) in 1996.
In June 2003, Sir Sam Jonah became the first Ghanaian to be knighted in the 21st century when he was presented with an honorary knighthood by the Prince of Wales, in recognition of his achievements as an African businessman, a leading business executive from the Commonwealth, and an international public figure.
